Personal Narrative Storyboard: The Colonial Community

Foxhole-Personal-Narrative-Storyboard-2
7: Every character I encountered in game was another human player.
There were hundreds of them. Eventually, I started asking around for help learning the game. My first taste of the cooperative Colonial Community came here, with a positive response from members of the Logistics Regiment "T-3C." They taught me all about how the logistics of the game work, and how to cooperate with those around me.

8: After, I thanked them, then went to the front with my first haul of equipment, made in cooperation with my teachers in T-3C. There, I was asked to join the fighting, and soon wound up supporting tanks on the western front as an infantryman providing cover. I tried everything, from being a medic to being a scout, and even a utility vehicle driver, always seeking to be a cooperative member of our forces.

9: I even tried helping crew artillery in the game, where there are roles for everyone: loader, gunner, coordinator, spotter, etc. Here I took on a coordinator role, learning how to communicate and lead, and slowly growing more confident.

10: Eventually, I had made a name for myself, and acquaintances in multiple regiments, including ARMCO, the regiment started by CaptainShack and his fellow content creators w4stedspace and Morphologis. I was asked to join a major operation, a massive cooperative endeavor to outwit our opponents in the Warden faction. It's here that I really got a taste of the massive community influence in this game, multiple squads and brigades working in tandem to achieve a greater goal of victory. I realized I had only been dipping my toes in until now. I must've impressed someone, cause not long after, I was invited to join the regiment.

11: I since joined many ops with ARMCO, and even took part in some logistics training, tanker training, and artillery training with the Regiment. I even hosted one of the training sessions with a couple of my peers in game.

12: In the end, being part of all of that, organizing events, being one of many members of a larger whole, reconnected me with my sense of community, and taught me many valuable lessons about being confident, being a leader, and looking out for your peers and compatriots, be it in a game, or in real life. It gave me the confidence to start getting back out there, and I soon returned to Kennesaw State to pursue a new major, seek leadership opportunities, learn how to tell my stories, and make new friends.
