I often contemplate many elements of my past, some darker than others. In this case, I contemplate the meaning of the word "family" and how the significance of that word, my value of the concept, was challenged by relatives who had little or no appreciation for the concept. In this story, we would explore a hardship I faced when several aunts, uncles, and cousins who sought to defame my parents, grandparents, siblings, and myself. In this story, we explore how I learned that the family connection isn't just about blood or DNA, it's about bond, trust, and loyalty.
